Hello Subcommittee!

Old Business

There is no old business, per se, but let's sort of inventory where we are with things.

1. The website, in general, is running smoothly. We are averaging 6,855 hits per month, or around 221 hits per day.

2. The website content is up to date as far as I know. The old outdated news items are being regularly reviewed and removed when appropriate. New news items are being added regularly. Good job Leesa!

3. We are answering e-mails sent to the help@knoxvillena.org help e-mail in a timely fashion. Good job John!

New Business

1. We need a volunteer to do a Google search of "knoxville na", and take a look at the sites that come up. Some of them have outdated information, such as the old 800 hotline number, the wrong website address, etc. We need someone to compile a list of the sites that have outdated info pertaining to NA in our area and contact them, supply them with the correct info, and request that they update their site.

2. I am in the process of writing instructions for various tasks. The first one is instructions for updating the website news items and is the attached file. Please take a look at it and let me know whether you think you could handle the task or not. Are the instructions too confusing? Not detailed enough? I need your feedback. We need to get the website maintenance simple and understood so that as many addicts as possible are able to maintain the website.

3. My term as Website Subcommittee chair is up in December. I have held this position for two years and it is really time someone else took over. I will continue to work with the subcommittee and am willing to help, but I am not willing to be chair for a third term because I don't think as trusted servants we should monopolize a service position. It is not necessary to be a programmer in order to be Website chair. If you are at all proficient with Excel, Word, and have Internet access you could be Website chair. If there are people on the subcommittee who can perform the maintenance tasks already, then the chair's job is pretty easy. So if one of you has the willingness to be chair, then ask your home group to nominate you at the next ASC meeting and let me know. Otherwise, help me get the maintenance instructions as simple as possible, and let's find someone to take over chair.

In Loving Service,

Josh F
